Book Donation from Microcosm Publishing

At Books in the Woods, we believe that books aren’t just tools for literacy—they’re springboards for identity, expression, and empowerment. That’s why we’re thrilled to share a mountain-sized thank you to our friends at Microcosm Publishing, who generously donated a phenomenal collection of books to support our Teen Zine Program.

These books go far beyond ink and paper. They’re pathways—to courage, creativity, and community-building.

From practical DIY guides to vibrant inspiration for zine-making and self-expression, Microcosm’s donation is helping young people on the mountain discover their voices, dream boldly, and explore new possibilities through the lens of independent publishing and entrepreneurship.

Through the Teen Zine Program, our local teens learn how to craft, edit, and publish their own zines—sharing their stories, ideas, and visions with the world. Whether they’re writing about skate culture, social justice, forest foraging, or friendship, each teen zine becomes a living testament to their voice and vision.

💥 Every book donated by Microcosm helps a young person see themselves not just as a reader—but as a creator, innovator, and change-maker.

We’re proud to say this work is rooted in the mountain and rising with every word. Thank you, Microcosm Publishing, for believing in the power of youth voices and for helping us nurture the next generation of storytellers, artists, and community leaders.

Stay tuned for more teen-led publications and events coming soon!

With gratitude,

The Books in the Woods Team
